Village of Edgerton Special Council Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 12:00PM

• Mayor Day called the Special meeting to order at 12:00 with the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer.
• Y – Yes, N – No, A – Abstain, Abs – Absent
• Roll Call:

     6 Members Present

Other Village Representatives Present:

• Denise Knecht – Fiscal Officer; Amanda Knecht – Executive Assistant; Doug Zimmerman – Acting Administrator; Ken Jacob – Police Chief

Media Present:

• Cindy Thiel – The Edgerton Earth; John Fryman – The Village Reporter

Employee resignation: Kip Pahl, Public Works Superintendent, resigned from his position effective 7/31/26. Pahl’s letter reads he has appreciated the opportunity to serve the Village of Edgerton and work alongside a dedicated group of employees, elected officials and community members. Mayor Day added that Kip is one of the good guys. He’s always gone the extra mile and will surely be missed. Day thanks Pahl for his service and dedication to the Village.

• Motion to approve resignation of Public Works Superintendent Kip Pahl, effective 7/31/26:

Motion PASSES 6-0

Advertisement of position: With Kip’s resignation we would like to ask for permission to advertise for a Public Works Superintendent. Wallace inquired if it would make sense to separate the position and go back to having a street supervisor and a water/sewer supervisor. There is a financial advantage to the Village in having one super and things are also much different now than they used to be with all of the cross-training that has been implemented.
