Fire Chief Update by Scott Blue:
- Bob Adkins reported that we were blessed again to be awarded a grant in the amount of $15,000 from TC Energy for the 3rd year in a row
- ISO rating as of July 1, 2026- grading agency does an assessment of emergency communications (9.12 out of 10), Fire Department (27.4 out of 50), and Village water system (29.99 out of 40). FD lacking people and training hours contributed to lower score. We were able to keep the same Class 04 score from last time. Rural area is a 4Y. This score is used by insurance and contributes to costs.
TC Energy Grant: TC Energy is a large natural gas pipeline that runs through Edgerton. We have been awarded this grant and plan to purchase a skid unit for Chief 30’s utility vehicle.

The Lewie Promotional Pricing: We would like to make some adjustments to the pricing schedule to encourage facility rentals. The Village is excited to offer a 50% discount for private events to be held between August 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 ONLY. This is a great deal for the community and a good opportunity for us to get some marketing pictures and work out any kinks in the process.

2026 supplemental appropriations: We are requesting a supplement to fund Village of Edgerton Pedestrian Safety Improvements PID 119800 proposal for professional services with Environmental Design Group that was approved at the last council meeting. The design cost is $188,804.00 plus legal fees and/or costs for right-of-way acquisition if needed. After these budget expense increases, the 2026 estimated carryover balance is 19 months in the Income Tax Fund and 15 months in the General Fund. AOS recommends maintaining a carryover balance of 3-6 months of operating expenses in funds to ensure financial stability for local governments. We are well above that.

Council Discussion:
Jason Gruver stated he has not seen reminders about energy usage during peak hours. Amanda will work on putting more information out to residents.

Driveways have been blocked and workers are not being responsive. Bowsher just wanted Council to be aware.
