• Motion to Approve Meeting Minutes from 08.20.25:

Motion PASSED 5-0

Southern Strut Band: Mayor Day welcomed our guests and introduced Khris Sines of Fleo’s Flicks and David Ansley of Southern Strut Band. Mr Ansley said he has been out in Edgerton, Brayn, Ft Wayne, and surrounding towns pounding the pavement, trying to get sponsors for the Southern Strut Band regarding the Southern Rock-toberfest on October 4^th being held at Fleo’s Flicks. They are in desperate need of sponsorship and would appreciate help. Besides door-to-door, they have used social media campaigns and have media interviews scheduled. Sponsorship includes added perks. This is family event, with multiple bands performing; live southern rock music, live Christian music, food, vendors, worship tent, from 1am-12am. Mayor Update by Robert Day:

• Trick-or-treat will be held Saturday, Nov 1^st 4:30-7:00pm; Trunk-or treat at Parkview from 4:30-5:30 and then from 5:30-6:30 at the Town Hall; maps of residents providing candy will be available

Administrator Update by Dawn Fitzcharles via phone:

• Rules Committee Meeting Thursday 9/11/2025 @ 4pm
• Tree Commission Meeting Monday 9/15/2025 @ 5pm
• OPWC joint project with St Joseph Township Trustees and Williams County Engineer; Gerken Paving received the award of contract for County Road 5 Project; Edgerton’s portion of the total $82,558.30 will be $21,465.16; great, cost-effective way of entities working together. Hoping to kick the project off this fall but currently waiting on project timelines.
• Community Center Construction meeting- held every other Wednesday with the contractor and architect. Delivery of building on September 18^th, should be seeing visual structure going up by mid-October
• NatureWorks Project- meeting with installers to verify site on 9/8 for placement of benches, trash receptacles, and dog waste stations
• RFP Edgerton transmission- working through a study with John Courtney and John Bentine to put together a project that will help Edgerton’s reliability. RFP will request proposals centered around installing additional infrastructure at the substation, which would require possible retainage of 69kv facilities and assets at the substation. John Courtney is scheduled to attend 1^st meeting in October to discuss the electric utility and ways that we can invest in our infrastructure; we need to continue to look at ways that we can have an additional/alternative source of power
• Continuing to work on the 2026 budget

Police Chief Update by Ken Jacob:

• Figy recently attended CIT Training- Crisis Intervention Team learning de-escalation and communication skills to deal with those suffering with mental illness
• Plotts will be teaching a LEADS program to students at Edgerton Local and St Mary’s Schools in the 5^th and 6^th grade
• Police Department would like to try a different approach to hiring and retention of employees by offering an educational opportunity and reimbursement through an agreement with potential candidates. Details are to be circulated to council members to be approved later.

Council Discussion:

Council Member VanAusdale is glad to see the police engaged and involved in the CIT program. It’s a great program.

Bathrooms at Miller Park – please check time and status of allowed use. The doors are currently programmed from 8am-8pm to unlock and relock.

Stadium Dr – Hopefully will be under contract yet in 2025 – for 358 ft of roadway, catch basins and storm sewer infrastructure, the estimate is just shy of $500,000.

Council Member Pam Wampler brought up a large pot hole in the walkway of the West crosswalk on 49 to our attention. Dawn will reach out to the railroad.
